It was a cold start to the first meeting of the new year. Even the Woman’s Club was having a slow beginning as they did not expect us this AM. First to arrive at a dark building were Robert Sanberg and Dick Anderson. The club recovered in time and we had a great breakfast.

The meeting was called to order by our new president, Robert Sanberg, with a tinkle of the bell. We had a smooth transition of power this morning as the gavel was presented to our past president, Mark Arnold.

Jim Abeler is a state senator, chiropractor and former 16 year member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represented District 35A, which includes portions of Anoka County in the northern part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. He was just elected in the special SD 35 Senate election in Minnesota.

Winter is coming early and keeping us in its grips this year, but that didn’t stop board member Craig Blixrud from warmly starting off our meeting.  The proposed bylaws change to the Board of Directors and the nominations for the Board of Directors for January 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017 were both approved.

Our guests today were Mark Herstrom, as well as Mitch Cook of MidWestOne Bank.

Winter arrived yesterday, and we wondered who would gather for hot coffee and warm fellowship. Our first to arrive today was Tom Donnelly with Donnelly Stucco.

The meeting was called to order by our President Mark Arnold with a tinkle of the bell. Today is the last day to update your listing for the 2017 Club Roster, and please make sure to sign up for your 2017 Craft Talk. We have open dates for January 2017 that we are in need of speakers for.

There is a proposed bylaws change regarding the makeup of the Club Board of Directors that will be voted on next week. Attached is the current and revised language. The slate of officers and directors that have been nominated to serve from January 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017 is also attached.

We are passing the hat for the Woman’s Club personnel that serve us each week this week and next week. Please show your appreciation for the fabulous work they do for us time and again!

Tony Rubin has a U of M student looking for a paid internship. Select Communications has a part time opening at their Edina location for sales. Bullseye Media is looking for a male voice over artist for a quick job.
